Dez anos de guerra na Síria. Dez anos desde que as vidas de milhões de pessoas foram interrompidas. Dez anos de uma tragédia com números devastadores. Neste 15 de março de 2021, o conflito na Síria completa 10 anos..

Hoje 5,6 milhões de refugiados (ACNUR, 2020) provenientes da Síria se encontram no exterior, principalmente em países vizinhos, como a Turquia e o Líbano; e mais de 1 milhão são crianças sírias migrantes que nasceram durante o exílio, ao serem forçadas a se deslocar para buscarem proteger as suas próprias vidas. Crianças que não conhecem outra realidade a não ser a guerra, a morte e a separação dos seus entes queridos. O mundo permanece em silêncio perante as atrocidades cometidas em uma década de conflito na Síria.

Mais de 100.000 prisioneiros mortos por tortura nas prisões do regime sírio; cerca de 100.000 pessoas ainda estão presas e 200.000 estão desaparecidas. Esses dados do Observatório Sírio para os Direitos Humanos (OSDH) reiteram a falha e a omissão dos países envolvidos no conflito, das organizações internacionais e de toda a comunidade internacional em anos de deliberações e sanções ineficazes que sacrificam ainda hoje os direitos fundamentais de civis por “ganhos políticos” de curta duração, no pretexto de se fortalecer os “nacionalismos” e de se estar combatendo ao terrorismo.

Violações do direito internacional humanitário e dos direitos humanos, como crimes contra a humanidade, crimes de guerra e outros crimes internacionais, incluindo o genocídio, estão a ser cometidas na Síria contra crianças, idosos, mulheres e homens desde março de 2011. Grupos extremamente vulneráveis como as crianças, irão levar consigo para sempre a magnitude dessa tragédia. Quase 24,5 milhões de meninos e meninas na Síria e 750 mil crianças sírias nos países vizinhos estão fora da escola. Uma geração de crianças longe do convívio escolar, uma geração que teve o direito ao acesso à educação negado devido à guerra. Deste total, 40% são meninas que provavelmente serão futuras mulheres que não tiveram um livre acesso à autonomia e emancipação feminina que os estudos são capazes de proporcionar.

É notório, a partir destes 10 anos de guerra na Síria, que o sistema de governança e de segurança internacional existente não é efetivo. E isso é algo que deveria provocar reflexões e modificações objetivas por todos aqueles que fazem parte da comunidade internacional, ou seja, por todos nós homens, mulheres, organizações, governos e países que assistimos a essa tragédia seja de longe ou de perto, mas sem querer se envolver. Os mecanismos de garantia dos direitos humanos existentes não foram capazes de até hoje responderem plenamente a este conflito, o que ainda esperamos que aconteça aos civis e crianças inocentes para que de fato se busquem soluções tangíveis e possíveis para a Síria? Todos nós somos culpados.
