Nesta última semana o mundo se surpreendeu com a nova edição da revista Vogue. Na capa, uma jovem mulher empoderada, ativista, inspiradora e sobrevivente de um ataque terrorista estampou a revista pela primeira vez: Malala Yousafzai. Uma jovem que acreditou no poder da sua voz e a usou até as últimas consequências, quando a sua vida quase que por um triz não foi apagada pelo grupo terrorista ‘talibã’ em 2012.

O poder da voz de Malala, como uma adolescente que viveu toda a sua infância no Paquistão e que precisou buscar refúgio e proteção em outro país para resguardar a sua vida após um ataque terrorista, amplificou-se e hoje faz o mundo perceber algo importante: precisamos dar voz, lugar e espaço para as crianças e jovens migrantes e refugiadas. De acordo com o Migration Data Portal (2021), no ano de 2020 cerca de 36 milhões de crianças no mundo eram migrantes. Elas estão a cruzar fronteiras e a ir em busca de um amanhã em que não seja mais necessário fugir para poder viver.

Cada voz tem algo de diferente a se dizer, cada voz é única e importante para o presente e futuro que queremos construir como sociedade. Malala utilizou a sua voz, única, simples e poderosa não apenas para si, mas em prol da luta pelo direito das meninas paquistanesas de frequentarem as escolas. Uma única voz foi e é capaz de ser fonte de esperança para os momentos difíceis que enfrentamos como comunidade.

Quantas crianças migrantes despareceram após cruzarem as fronteiras? Quantas crianças migrantes foram violadas durante a travessia? Quantas crianças precisam ter o seu direito à dignidade e à infância, violados para que o mundo finalmente as enxergue? Que adultos serão estas crianças no futuro? Essas respostas continuam a ser silenciadas, assim como as vozes das 36 milhões de crianças migrantes. A omissão é fruto do ódio, da intolerância e da xenofobia; e tudo isso pode até tirar materialmente tudo o que as pessoas migrantes possuem, menos o que há de mais precioso: as suas vozes.
