Você já chegou a ver estes migrantes venezuelanos pelas ruas da sua cidade?

No último semestre de 2019, no estado de Pernambuco, cidades como Recife, Caruaru e Garanhuns receberam um fluxo de migrantes indígenas, da etnia Warao provenientes da Venezuela.

O povo indígena Warao é um grupo étnico habitante do delta do rio Orinoco na Venezuela, e possuem consigo um modelo de organização cultural, linguística e social particulares. Estima-se que 49 mil indivíduos Warao foram sujeitos ao deslocamento forçado devido ao violento e invasivo processo de ocupação em suas terras originárias desde 2014.

A travessia forçada para os países vizinhos da Venezuela trouxe consigo a esperança de que pudessem viver uma vida digna e em condições sociais e econômicas justas. Se antes este grupo vivia em um sistema rural e comunitário, ao chegarem em Pernambuco os Waraos passaram a ocupar as ruas dos centros urbanos como pedintes buscando o mínimo para a sua sobrevivência.

A Prefeitura de Recife assinou um acordo extrajudicial (até dezembro de 2020) para o custeio de aluguéis de imóveis para estes migrantes. Porém, como se não bastassem terem os seus direitos violados no seu país de origem, em Pernambuco foram oferecidas casas com “problemas de coabitação excessiva (mais de 8 famílias em uma única casa), com falta de ventilação, excesso de umidade, precariedade nas redes elétrica e hidráulica, e falta de cobertura adequada da rede de atenção primária à saúde”.

De acordo com as organizações da sociedade civil, mesmo com um repasse emergencial de verbas federais pelo Ministério da Cidadania (no valor de R$ 288.000,00) para a Prefeitura do Recife, a oferta de “ações socioassistenciais específicas para migrantes e refugiados”, violações aos direitos dos migrantes e indígenas estão sendo recorrentes no estado.

Nesta última semana, 27 instituições e organizações da sociedade civil assinaram uma carta repúdio relatando as violações, entre elas “fome, desnutrição, habitações insalubres” e a falta de acesso à saúde primária diante da pandemia avassaladora de coronavírus.
